Hummingbird Sri Lanka Team recently handled a Harvard Reunion Incentive tour which was a grand success. The guests stayed overnight in the likes of Jungle Beach, Water Garden, Santani, Chena Huts, Amangalla and Shangri La Colombo. The reviews on Sri Lankan hospitality was overwhelming.

Getting around the island was easy with the help of aircrafts, seaplanes and helicopters which saved a lot of time. One of the entertainment options during the many nights was a Perahera procession which included decorated elephants, drummers, dancers and whip crackers. Sri Lankan food was one of the highlights of the journey as well.

They liked exploring the different religions of the island, whether it be through a visit to Koneshwaram (a Hindu temple) or to the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic (a Buddhist temple). One day they were watching whales and dolphins off the coast of the Trincomalee harbour and on the next day, they were watching leopards, bears and elephants in Yala national park. Everyone was thrilled with the good wildlife sightings.

It was a very intimate gathering where friends from all over the world got together to spend time with each other. Hummingbird would book private colonial villas with beautiful gardens for dinners where live bands would perform.

“We took with us many memories of this beautiful island of smiling happy faces, with its long history, diverse culture and unique landscape.”
