Amanwella comprises of 27 contemporary suites, positioned on the hillside overlooking the Indian Ocean.

All suites feature floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors on both sides, where one side opens to an entrance courtyard with a private plunge pool, the other to an expansive terrace with twin sun loungers, a dining table and chairs, and views of the coconut grove, beach and ocean.

All suites include a bathroom with free-standing bathtub, dressing area, separate shower/toilet, Wi-Fi, sound system, safe, personal mini bar and Spa treatments available in-room.

Food & Beverages

There are two restaurants to choose from – the main restaurant and the Beach Club.

The main restaurant is located on an elevated platform and is renowned for serving the catch of the day, delivered fresh from the local fishermen’s’ boats.

Locally-grown produce also features prominently on the menu at both the Restaurant and Beach Club, including curry leaves and spices sourced from nearby markets by the Chef himself.

If guests prefer, there are options to dine privately on the coconut grove and watch giant turtles lay their eggs by moonlight.

For a truly authentic Sri Lankan experience, travellers can opt to stay in the local village house and have food prepared in traditional clay crockery.

Amanwella boasts its own spa, promising a variety of treatments focusing on well-being and serenity.

Spa treatments can also be organised in the privacy of guest’s suites.

Location

Amanwella is a scenic five-and-a-half-hour drive from Colombo Bandaranaike International Airport. For a shorter transfer, guests can fly Cinnamon Air  for the 50-minute trip to Dickwella airstrip.

We had the best meal here! Even though we arrived quite late, the chef cooked us an absolute storm! The hotel is rather minimalist in style using lots of natural materials. Very comfortable and chic!
