An expanse of white walls and floors, and gold-on-black jungle wallpaper, reaches out to massive floor-to-ceiling windows, with views across hills and rambling jungle plantations. Gold embroidered curtains provide a total blackout when wanted. The Penthouse is accessed by a private bridge and surrounded by wide, private verandas with views into the jungle, the main hotel Walawwa, Amphitheater and infinity pool. Much of its furniture is made from teak and mahogany trees felled when The Pineapple Wing was built. A large antique family treasure chest occupies one wall. Old maps, photographs, original art and the bejeweled wedding clothes of a Kandyan Bridegroom decorate the walls. Specially commissioned lights fashioned like golden hellaconias light the space. Linked rooms provide a dressing room with safe, cupboards and porthole windows overlooking the Orchid Walk; a large white bath with mountain views, bathrooms and a choice of indoor or outdoor showers. The room is named in honor of the endangered Ceylon leopard.
