Javi, our Senior Reservations Consultant recently visited Six Senses Laamu and absolutely loved it there. This is what he had to say about his time spent on the island.
“I loved Six Senses Laamu! It has become one of my favourite resorts! It takes a bit longer to get there but it is its seclusion that makes this place really special. The remote location, in the Laamu atoll, means the 60-minute transfer is via domestic flight and speedboat (rather than by seaplane!).
The island itself is large with soft, white beaches all around and a very accessible house reef with superb marine life. The island is natural and the vegetation is very lush, you will feel like Tom Hanks on the Castaway movie!
The villas are beautifully decorated in the traditional Maldivian style (think thatched roofs and woody interiors).
Another highlight is the food, with six bars and restaurants the resort offers a wide variety of cuisines and the quality and freshness is hard to believe – it’s one of the few resorts I have stayed at with perfect avocados! (:D).”
Javi’s Favourite restaurant: Leaf, a signature restaurant offering an authentic farm to fork experience using ingredients grown in their very own organic gardens and neighbouring islands.
