This all-suite tented camp provides experiences that are all about immersive luxury living in remote wilderness, an environment where there are new discoveries around every corner.
The history of Ahaspokuna is deeply connected to the history of Sri Lanka itself and it has indeed been an eventful past. Its roots are deeply entrenched in the history of the great Kandyan Kingdom in particular and the colonial invasions of the time, as well as the heroic resistance of the hill capital and its people against foreign invaders.

Food & Beverage

A truly local, authentic Sri Lankan cuisine enables a journey of gastronomic pleasure. Their executive chef carefully prepares Ahaspokuna’s Signature Dishes using age-old cooking traditions. Guests can enjoy delicacies such as polos cutlets (young jackfruit cooked in spices, mashed and deep fried) local breadsticks ‘Viskiringe’, and ‘Lavariya’ (coconut and jaggery wrapped in string hoppers) amongst a host of others.

High Tea on High Rocks
The afternoons are for truly indulging in the magic of sundown on warm rocks. Feast on an array of local delicacies while gazing across the sprawling mountain ranges, alight with rays of the receding sun.

Although there is no Spa, the team at Ahaspokuna will be happy to arrange a professional Ayurveda Therapist for massage therapy at a pre-booked time. This is ideal following an adventurous bushwalk or an intense yoga session.

Ahaspokuna, located in Sri Lanka’s hill country, is well connected from the upper mountains (Nuwara Eliya / Hatton) and Udawalwe / Yala National Parks are 2 to 3 hours away. Tangalle or Galle (Mirissa)
could be connected to within 3 to 4 1⁄2 hours. If you need to fly in, the closest fixed wing airport is just 2 to 2 1⁄2 hours away. Helicopters could be landed very close to the site as well.
