The Last House is a 5-bedroom property, Geoffrey Bawa’s final example of his famous brand of architecture throughout Sri Lanka, enjoying space, ventilation, and barefoot luxury in a private location.

Bedrooms enjoy views of the sea or lagoon, set in tropical gardens with a central swimming pool. Décor throughout the property is largely a mix of fresh white walls and grey polished cement floors, serving as a backdrop to a mixture of antique and contemporary furniture.

Guests can enjoy fresh Asian fusion and Sri Lankan dishes made with seasonal, locally sourced produce and served in our open-air dining room or under the stars on Mawella beach. Situated at the end of unspoilt Mawella beach which was named as one of the best beaches in Sri Lanka 2022 by Lonely Planet. The location is ideal for those wishing to combine luxury and relaxation with a little bit of adventure. Nearby are the surfing spots whilst for wildlife enthusiasts, Dolphin and Whale watching, the Turtlesanctuary, or safari parks are a short drive away, and the GalleFort and local markets are close enough to satisfy the shopaholics.
