Another year of hosting the Traveller Made Maldives FAM trip, and what a success it was!

After a long pause on international travel, Hummingbird was proud to showcase Maldives as a destination as well as some of the top resorts in the Indian Ocean. Our agents had the opportunity to experience the beautiful islands and to have a better understanding of how our Ground Handling team works.

Led by Hummingbird Marketing Manager, Karen hosted 8 agents from around the world including the US, Italy, Finland, Netherlands, Argentina and the UK.

Our 8-night itinerary included overnight stays at Hurawalhi, Kudadoo, COMO Cocoa Island, COMO Maalifushi and Soneva Fushi. We got to enjoy some of the most unique activities the resorts have to offer, and we are delighted to highlight some of these below.

Hurawalhi 5.8 Undersea Restaurant + Bella Vista yacht

The resort had organised a private lunch at the 5.8 Undersea restaurant, where we enjoyed the 5 course wine pairing menu while surrounded by schools of fish. Each course was beautifully presented showcasing the Chef’s creativity, and was well explained by the waiter and wine sommelier.

We also enjoyed a sunset cruise on Bella Vista where we indulged in Champagne and canapes.

COMO Shambhala Hydrotherapy pool

COMO Shambhala Retreat is a signature highlight of any COMO properties. We had the opportunity to experience the Hydrotherapy pool. Known for alleviating joint pressure and discomfort, this treatment can help reduce muscle tension, pain and more.

Turtle spotting at COMO Cocoa Island House Reef

We went on a guided snorkelling tour around the house reef at Cocoa Island and we were lucky enough to see their resident turtle majestically swimming around the reef.

Tai restaurant at Maalifushi

A signature Japanese overwater restaurant. We indulged in a set menu of freshly caught seafood, sashimi, sushi, accompanied by recommended sake and wine.

Dolphin cruise at Soneva Fushi, So Guilty and Fresh in the Garden Dinner

On our final evening, we were taken out on the luxury yacht to enjoy a sunset dolphin cruise. We indulged in canapes and champagne and very quickly, we were lucky enough to see pods of dolphins playfully swimming near our yacht. We also spotted spinner dolphins!

You surely cannot visit Soneva and not pay a visit (or more) to So Guilty. Homemade chocolate and ice-cream, diary or non-diary, are complimentary and available 24/7. It’s the perfect pit stop whether you’re just cycling around the island or exploring Out of the Blue. It is simply a must.

We ended our trip with a phenomenal dinner at Fresh in the Garden. We dined high above the organic garden and feasted on some of the most creative dishes made with the freshest ingredients. The central open kitchen provides front-row seats to all the action.
