Our Head of Caribbean, Pip and our Sales & Marketing Manager, Karen, had an excellent trip attending CHTA in Antigua. On their way back they wanted to stop in St. Martin and visit the iconic La Samanna, A Belmond Hotel. Karen shares the experience of their stay:
"We had a wonderful opportunity to spend one night on St. Martin, at the beautiful La Samanna, a Belmond Hotel. After a short 10 minute car transfer from the airport, we were quickly whisked away to our 4 bedroom private villa. Located up on the cliffs, all villas have amazing views of the ocean, beach and are perfectly situated for the most amazing sunsets.
Our villa was incredible, with elegant modern design, tastefully decorated interiors and plenty of space that can easily accommodate a big family or a group of friends. The master bedroom upstairs offers its own private balcony, whilst all other bedrooms are generously sized and are all ensuites. Our butler impressed us with all the luxury amenities and welcomed us with a glass of champagne! In front of the villa, there is a great sized pool and a private garden, along with an outdoor dining area.
We started our day with breakfast down by Corail. The buffet spread was filled with fresh fruits, pastries and live cooking stations, and the a la carte menu offered mouth-watering international and local dishes. A truly lovely start to the day in this peaceful little nook overlooking the pool.
We then took a tour around the property and got to see the other room categories as well as the beach. The long stretch of beach is where most guests spend much of their time! Calm waters meant that it was perfect for water sports too!
The afternoon was spent lounging around the pool, taking in the views of the calm sea and enjoying a spot of light lunch in the sunshine.
Heading into the evening, we enjoyed a few drinks at the villa watching the sun go down, before heading to L'oursin where we indulged in a delicious 3 course meal. Our evening was made even more special when our butler sent a special bottle of wine to our table!
We wrapped up our evening with a few cocktails at the Baie Lounge Bar before heading off back to the UK the following morning! Although it was a short and sweet stay, we already can't wait to be back and perhaps do a twin centre stay next time with their sister property Cap Juluca in Anguilla!"
