With 150km of white beaches, a broken ring of mountain ranges with peaks as high as 800m, and several ecologically significant national parks, Mauritius is a hotspot for wildlife on land and surrounding coral reefs. 

With abundant and rare flora and fauna, as well as the world's most unique and diverse terrain – travellers can explore on foot, under the water, or aboard a sailboat.

  • Casela national park - Theme park, Safari and nature reserve. Activities include quad biking, zip lining, hiking and walking with the Lions.
  • Grand Baie - Buzzing area on the North Coast, famous for its nightlife.:
  • Black River Gorges national park - Situated in the South West part of the island, the last true untouched nature reserve left in Mauritius. 
  • The Multicoloured earth of Chamarel - South West photo opportunity.
  • Port Louis - Capital of Mauritius on the West Coast and boasts a lively market and some interesting museums such as Aapravasi Ghat World Heritage Site.

Best time to visit: 

  • May to November (dry season): Ideal for outdoor activities and calm seas.
  • Be aware that January to March is cyclone season and can experience higher humidity

Key Areas: Grand Baie, Pereybère, Trou aux Biches, Mont Choisy, Cap Malheureux

  • September to December and May to July: Less wind, pleasant weather.
  • Be aware that June–August bring trade winds
