Recently, Dean, our Reservations Manager for The Americas had the chance to visit St Barts & Anguilla for a week. Here were his thoughts:

"I was lucky enough to take part in the High Life Marketing fam trip to St. Barths and Anguilla – my first time visiting both islands and a great opportunity to understand the logistics of getting around. I flew into St. Maarten and stayed overnight at Sonesta Maho Beach, just a short ride from the airport and ideal for connections. The hotel is located on the famous Maho Beach, where guests can watch international flights land directly overhead."

"The next morning, I transferred to Grand Case airport, the smaller of St. Maarten’s two airports, and took the St. Barths Commuter flight. The journey was around 20 minutes with spectacular views, and landing in St. Barths is an experience in itself, with the runway set between two mountains. On arrival, we transferred to Le Toiny – one of the best five-star hotels I’ve stayed at in the Caribbean. St. Barths felt wonderfully different to other Caribbean islands I’ve visited, with a strong French influence. I loved Le Toiny’s traditional luxury style and its location on the island’s wild, rugged coastline. The resort offers private standalone pool villas, many with a very classic feel, as well as larger private residences ideal for families and groups."

"The villas are set within nature, and land turtles roam freely around the property – I even had one wander into my villa. A truly memorable experience. Le Toiny also offers excellent fine dining, with the chefs happy to accommodate special requests. On our second night, we visited the famous La Ti Cabaret – an absolute must-do on St. Barths and perfect for special occasions, with incredible performers and a fantastic atmosphere."

"The final part of the trip took us to Anguilla on an Anguilla Air flight, flying back over St. Maarten. The journey from St. Barths was around 25 minutes, making travel between all three islands quick and easy. On arrival, we transferred to The Beach House at Little Harbour Estates, a luxury eight-bedroom villa set on one of Anguilla’s most famous beaches. It’s perfect for large families or corporate getaways, with a modern design, spacious rooms, and full service including a private chef and butler team. Little Harbour Estates specialise in tailor-made stays and, in addition to The Beach House, offer other villas on the island."

"I loved how accessible everything felt on Anguilla, with so many excellent dining options for guests keen to explore. With new direct services from Baltimore, Boston, Newark, and Miami, getting to Anguilla is easier than ever, and the island is set to become even more popular."
