An absolute favorite hike at Hilton Labriz is Grand Barbe, though challenging, the journey is well worth the effort. The trail takes you through the National Park of Silhouette Island, with unique biodiversity and a breathtaking 2km-long secluded beach, untouched and serene. Grand Barbe was once home to one of the largest villages on the island, but today, only two locals remain, living among the ruins of this historic settlement. Adding to the magic of the place, a family of giant tortoises shares this remote paradise with them. For those who love adventure, nature, and culture, Grand Barbe is unforgettable.
Silhouette Island’s Biodiversity
Hilton Seychelles Labriz Resort & Spa is located on Silhouette Island, with 93% of the island designated as a national park and the surrounding waters protected as a national marine park. The island is home to some of the world’s rarest species, including the Seychelles sheath-tailed bat, several types of land crabs, giant tortoises, fruit bats, endangered endemic frogs as well as dramatic granite rock formations and rugged mountain peaks, creating breathtaking landscapes. It is also enriched with lush palm trees, fragrant cinnamon trees, and the iconic Coco de Mer, a rare and unique palm that is native to the island.
