Our Reservations Manager (CEE), Lora, recently returned from her beautiful trip to Anguilla & St.Martin. Here were her thoughts:
"We visited La Samanna, a truly beautiful and intimate property with charming retro touches, instantly recognisable by its soft pink umbrellas perfectly lined along a stunning powder-white beach. Located just 25 minutes by car from SXM airport, the resort feels wonderfully secluded despite its easy access. La Samanna has a lovely story behind it, having been created from a father’s love for his daughters, with the name La Samanna formed from Samantha, Natalie, and Anuk."

"In 1996, the property was acquired by Orient Express and, since 2019, has been part of the Belmond portfolio. The rooms are beautifully designed with a calming, predominantly white palette and luxurious marble bathrooms, and every room enjoys uninterrupted ocean views. The hotel also boasts an impressive wine cellar, which can be used for private dining and special occasions. One of the highlights for me was the beach cabanas - elegantly positioned above the shoreline with steps leading up to shaded seating areas, offering the perfect spot to relax with light bites, fresh salads, and a perfectly chilled rosé while overlooking the sea."

"Cap Juluca, by contrast, offers a completely different atmosphere. The resort is much larger in scale, yet maintains a cohesive aesthetic with its whitewashed Greco-Moorish architecture set beautifully against the natural surroundings. Cap Juluca is renowned for its extraordinary beach, easily rivalling those of the Maldives, with incredibly soft white sand and a wide, expansive shoreline. A stay here would not be complete without a visit to the spa, particularly for guests with an appreciation for luxury fragrance and skincare."

"The spa is located at the highest point of the resort, and after a treatment guests can unwind at the rooftop pool while taking in breathtaking ocean views. The thermal facilities, including a cold plunge and a heated pool, are a wonderful addition and incredibly revitalising. Another highlight was the resort’s Peruvian restaurant, offering a vibrant mix of flavours and beautifully presented dishes - an absolute must for lovers of high-quality ceviche and creative cuisine!"
