Amilla Maldives Resort is a lush private island in Baa Atoll, just a 35-minute seaplane journey from Velana International Airport. The island retains 70% of its natural jungle, offering a tranquil backdrop with 67 spacious and contemporary villas and residences. Each villa features a private pool, while some come with games rooms, roof terraces, and private kitchens. The resort boasts a top 10 house reef in the Maldives and easy access to Hanifaru Bay. Sustainability and wellness are core values, with an untouched jungle and white sand beaches. Guests can dine at various multi-cuisine restaurants and enjoy Italian, Japanese, and South Indian cuisines. Dietary preferences are catered for with Wellness Your Way menus available throughout the resort.
Review
If you love a natural island and a jungle feel, you will love Amilla. They have some amazing banyan trees and very tall palms that can only be found in established islands. The island has a really good location in Baa atoll, not far from Hanifaru Bay, and a lovely large beach by their main pool. There is a lot to do on the island, and I tried my hand at kombucha making, a head massage class, and (my favourite) wine tasting in their cellar room with head sommelier, Simba. In terms of rooms, their large Residences remain some of the most spacious and private, and the Reef water villas a snorkeller's dream, but in terms of uniqueness, the Treetop Villas have it for me; I love that they are set 6m up in the canopy of the trees and feel like another world.
