Young Island Resort
Young Island, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines
A 13-acre private island resort located 183 meters from mainland St. Vincent, Young Island Resort is a three-minute ferry ride from the Resort's jetty to the mainland jetty. The resort's ferry operates on a 24-hour basis on demand for resident guests. This cottage style resort has 29 accommodations, four different categories. All cottages are air conditioned and six of the 29 cottages are suites, five of which have freshwater plunge pools and the sixth one has its own small infinity edge swimming pool. All cottages have WIFI with WIFI available at the main bar, the reception area and the tennis court area. There are two Bars, the Captain Bligh Bar and the Coconut Bar (a swim up bar in the sea, just a few strokes from the shore.) Dining is open air under thatched gazebos close to the water's edge or surrounded by lush foliage. The resort's six signature breads (white, wholewheat, cinnamon, raisin, banana and coconut) are served on a wooden bread board at lunch and dinner. Breakfast is a served meal, while lunch is a la carte six days per week with a buffet lunch on Sunday's. A four-course meal is served at dinner six evenings per week with a barbecue and buffet dinner served on Saturday evenings. The resort has a swimming pool, a tennis court and a mini spa. Non-motorised watersports are offered (paddle boards, kayaks and snorkeling gear.) Reception is open from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. daily.
Review
Quintessentially Caribbean, perfect for a rustic laidback stay. All the cottages are hidden within lush flora and fauna so are very private, some have private pools and direct beach access which I would highly recommend. It is on the windward side of the island which means there is often a lovely cooling breeze too. The ferry shuttle runs on demand 24 hours a day so also really easy to get over to the mainland and enjoy the bars and restaurants there.

This cozy two-bedroom "top of the hill" cottage offers a luxurious retreat, ideal for families with children. The master bedroom includes a king-size bed, while the second, smaller bedroom has a queen-size bed. The cottage features separate living and dining areas, air-conditioning, and a single bathroom, accessible through the master bedroom. Located atop Young Island, it provides breathtaking views of the sea, Fort Duvernette, and the Grenadines. Outside, a private yard surrounds a small infinity-edge pool, a furnished deck, and a hammock, perfect for relaxation amidst nature.

An open-air style restaurant with thatched gazebos close to the water's edge. Fresh fruits, vegetables, and herbs are used in the various culinary creations. Breakfast is served from 7:00 to 10:00 a.m. Lunch from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. and dinner from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. Served breakfast daily A la carte lunch six days per week with a buffet lunch on Sundays. Table D'hote four course meal six evenings per week with a barbecue and buffet dinner on Saturday evenings. Six signature homemade breads are served at each meal.
