Desroches Island, Seychelles
Four Seasons Desroches features 60 villas and suites, plus 11 Residence Villas, each distinct from its Mahé counterpart. The villas are spread across the private coral island, creating a sense of intimate community. Each villa includes bicycles for exploration and golf carts for a more relaxed pace, embodying "Castaway Chic." With 14 kilometres of pristine beaches and a sanctuary housing over 100 Aldabra tortoises, Desroches is rich in natural beauty and adventure for all ages. The island’s amenities include fine dining, diverse recreational options like surfing, water sports, fishing, boat rentals, and diving, offering a perfect blend of tranquility and excitement. The island features its own private runway, directly connected to the resort, and is just a 35-minute scenic flight from Mahé.
Review
Set on a sunken volcano, the Four Seasons Desroches offers dramatic ocean and greenery views, complemented by spacious villas with an African touch. What I found most interesting about Desroches is its unique blend of Seychelles and Maldives vibes. The resort occupies a small part of the island, allowing clients to cycle with a guide, explore the jungle, and visit the resident tortoises—sometimes even spotting one near your villa! There is something very special about this resort—the complete silence and the clear sky with so many stars visible at night made it an absolute winner for me. It is a special place and very different from all other places I've visited. If I had to choose two words to describe it, they would be complete bliss.
