From the minute you walk into the grand entrance at LUX* Grand Baie, you can see some stunning dark and gold accents throughout the hotel which gives a very luxurious feel. One of my favourite spots in the hotel was Bisou, which is an adult only rooftop bar and restaurant. They have lots of cabanas and swinging chairs to relax in as well as an infinity pool which has incredible views overlooking the bay. Their spa is in a very quiet part of the hotel so it’s the perfect place to relax and switch off.

Beach Rouge
Equal parts beach club and restaurant, it evolves and metamorphoses throughout the day. The à la carte breakfast is as creative as it is delicious. Lunches are long and lazy, bringing people together over Mediterranean cuisine. And when the sun dips below the horizon, the entire Beach Rouge is lit up in an electrifying red tint, to which it owes its name.
Maison LUX*
Stepping inside Maison LUX* is like entering one of the gorgeous cafés that line the streets of old European cities. It’s evocative of a certain art de vivre. It’s where guests can order a morning coffee and pastry, an afternoon pick-me-up in the form of gelato or a nightcap.
The Food Lab
It’s in the heat of the main kitchen–a laboratory where the chefs create the next dishes following technique, seasonality, and trends. There’s an ingredient library with hard-to-source gems. A fermentation area. A zone devoted to pastries. A photography and video studio. Though it’s an incubator for the chefs, a few lucky guests will have the chance to sample dishes in the making before they even reach the menus, guests can dine at the Chef’s Table, enjoy a wine tasting or a cooking class. This is where the magic happens.
Ai KISU
The Ai KISU experience pulls guests in from the moment they step inside: the walls are adorned with modern Japanese art, chefs inside the open kitchen fire up sinfully delectable dishes inspired by the many cuisines of Asia, a soya sauce sommelier passes through the tables, eclectic dishes are served alongside exquisite cocktails. The show-stopping Warayaki straw fire cooking adds to the heat of the atmosphere. The other showstopper is the sunken views of the pool, at level with Ai KISU. The stylish and sophisticated dining destination is where you end up having too much fun to leave.
Bisou
Grand Baie's legendary lagoon looks even better from up here. Relax in one of the cabanas poolside. Yes, there’s an infinity pool, and it’s over 30 meters long. Sip cocktails while lunch is served at your in-water table. The cuisine up here is a creative mix of tapas from the world’s favourite cuisines. Full of flavours and colours. Even though it’s a grown-up area only, Bisou isn’t all drinking and dining. During the day, a deejay plays mellow, easy-to-listen-to beats. Come nightfall, when the sky turns blazing pink and orange, the music is turned up a notch. Bisou checks all the boxes for a perfect day and night out.

Club Ai KISU lives up to the hype by nailing the basics brilliantly: on-point aesthetics, DJs spinning tunes, musicians dropping by to spin vinyl, drinks crafted by mixologists, and an ambience that matches the occasion.
