From its flourishing house reef to its jungle heart, Baros is a natural paradise with a lush island canopy and towering palms overhead. It remains a place of astonishing beauty 44 years after locals used to travel from island to island on wooden “dhoni” sailboats.

As one of the first to open in the Maldives, the Baros resort and its coral-walled cabanas made the island an icon of luxury (which it continues to be viewed as today). Whether guests stay over the water or on the jungle-covered shoreline, they’re surrounded by greens and blues, with all of Baros within close reach.

Experts in marine biology have spent decades researching into preserving this habitat – one that they now encourage guests to explore. The resort invites travellers to participate in tours around the reef and unlock the secrets around its shores.
