Jamaica Inn is a small, elegantly timeless resort located in Ocho Rios, Jamaica. This eight-acre property boasts a 700-foot premier private beach, which is often considered to be the one of the best beaches in the Caribbean. There are sweeping views of the Caribbean Sea from all of Jamaica Inn’s 45 suites & 7 cottages. With no TV’s, clocks or radios, guests are encouraged to make use of the non-motorised water sports, pampering at the Ocean Spa and daily experiences on and off property. Jamaica Inn has two al-fresco restaurants, with live music every evening. What truly sets Jamaica Inn apart, is the warm, attentive, and authentic service guests receive.
Review
An historical hotel in Jamaica, it has been opened for 65 years and has seen a number of famous guests over the years (including Marilyn Monroe and Arthur Miller, who spent their honeymoon at this hotel). Very colonial in style, it does give you the impression to travel back to the past. It has 52 suites and 7 cottages, definitely a boutique hotel. Located in a protected bay, meaning they do not get seaweeds on the beach. Beach is quite small, but fully private, only accessible by guests from the hotel. Formal ambience, long trousers and shirts for men and smart casual attire for women are required at dinner. The hotel has a swimming pool and a croquet ground. In the late afternoon, guests play croquet while sipping cocktails. Staff is dressed with formal uniforms. Best suited to families with older children or couples.
