With hundreds of islands and very different resort experiences, choosing a Maldives resort isn't simply about finding the prettiest beach. Here's what our team considers when matching a client to the right island.
When is the best time to visit the Maldives?
The Maldives is a year-round destination, but understanding the seasonal differences can help you set expectations and recommend the right time for each client.
- December-April: Drier conditions and classic beach weather. Best for clients prioritising sunshine and calm seas.
- May-October: Surfing, marine life and potentially attractive rates. Don't overlook these months for experience-led travellers.
- November-early December: A useful transition period, with warm weather and strong marine-life opportunities.
Our take: The dry season isn't necessarily the best fit for every client. Start with what they want from their trip, whether that's sunshine, surfing, marine life or value and let that guide when you recommend they travel.

How will they get to the resort?
The resort's location determines the transfer, so it's worth checking this before recommending a property.
